Kids Yoga Series & Workshops

Kids & Tween Summer Yoga & Mindful Art Camp

In our special Kids & Tween Summer Yoga & Mindful Art Camp for ages 5-9 and 10-13 we will learn skills that can enhance their everyday lives in learning mindfulness, visualization and concentration strategies. We will have fun in building strength, flexibility, and team/partner yoga poses! Singing, Dancing, art, and being creative is all part of our Kids Yoga experience!

Wednesdays-June 12, 19, & 26

Kids Yoga Ages 5-9, 12:30-1:45pm

Tween Yoga Ages 10-13, 2-3:30pm

$70 for all three workshops

About Vanessa Orr:

Vanessa has dedicated herself to the nurturing development of kids and families through yoga and mindfulness practices.  As a public elementary school teacher for seven years, she has combined her skills and expertise from the classroom with her two- 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certifications through Yoga Tree SF and California Yoga Company, to help develop her kids yoga classes. She also holds an Its Yoga-Kids Teacher Training Certification and Next Generation Yoga 8-13 year old Certification.  Vanessa practices and teaches mindfulness in which she also holds a Mindful Schools Curriculum Certification. Movement has been a part of Vanessa's life from the age of four where she first began her journey as a ballet dancer.  She completed her BA at Arizona State University in Elementary Education with a focus on multicultural and multilingual populations with a minor in dance.  She currently holds a Clear California teaching credential with an authorization to teach children in which English is a second language, also known as a CLAD certification. Vanessa's goal is to bring happiness, confidence, mindfulness, and strength to all of her students.

To create a serene sanctuary we like to know each situation to make sure the space stays comfortable for all who desire to practice. Let's talk about a plan for your family. We believe families need an opportunity to be healthy together. If everyone in the family learns to practice deep breathing, stress relief techniques, and exercise for your mind and body you will reap the long lasting benefits for years to come. Private Yoga 

This is a special and unique offering to serve the children and teens in our community. A private yoga session is personalized to your child specific needs. Many children are feeling stress very early on, which effects their happiness, ability to adapt to new situations, connect with others, sleep well, and to concentrate properly. I help children with anxiety, self awareness, self esteem, coping techniques, and skills to encourage them to see their own unique and innate abilities.  I offer 30-40 minute sessions for children & teens.

What they will learn- Sessions often include, breathing techniques, yoga postures, mind & body awareness techniques, visualizing, energy/chakra balancing, affirmations, and an understanding of the 5 pts of yoga: proper exercise, breathing, nutrition, relaxation, and positive thinking/meditation. sessions are scheduled by appointment, or 805-434-1924 to learn more and book an appointment.
